How often should we meet?
Commonly, my clients and I tend to meet on a weekly basis, however, this can vary from client to client based on the client’s schedule and needs. Ultimately, the frequency in which we meet is up to the client and their desire to have consistent sessions or instead focus on booking occasional maintenance sessions.
Are my counselling sessions and what I share in them confidential?
Yes, what you share in counselling stays in our session. However, there are some limitations to confidentiality that I must take the appropriate action with. It is my ethical, moral, and legal obligation to ensure that certain protections are maintained. Please see my Intake & Confidentiality form on Jane App to read further.
Do you offer couples counselling?
Yes. However, my couple’s counselling services do cost more than individual sessions. For more information, please visits my Counselling Fees section.
Do you offer counselling for children or adolescents?
The focus of my work is with those 16 years old and above. However, I am open to referrals for younger individuals if there is a mutually good fit for both parties.
Can I book on evenings or weekends?
I currently keep my availability updated on my Jane App booking page. I have also made it possible for clients to book outside of my availability. This means that I am likely not available, however, I can review the request and see if there is any flexibility in my schedule that could accommodate the request.
What are your professional qualifications?
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I also hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Child & Youth Care from Vancouver Island University.
How much do counselling sessions cost?
You’ll find complete details on pricing and appointment options on my rates page. Counselling services are priced based on recommendations set by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
What payment methods do you accept?
I currently accept payment by Interac e-Transfer or cash.
When is payment due?
Payment is due within 24 hours of the counselling service being rendered, but you are welcome to pay in advance.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that you cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment. Otherwise you will be charged a $50 fee. After 3 “no-shows”, clients will be charged the full rate of their session.
There is also some flexibility for cancelling due to health-related issues, inclement weather, and bereavement.
Do you provide emergency services?
No, all services I provide are by appointment only.
