Sacred Coast Counselling operates as a fee-for-service agency. All fees will be disclosed to you prior to the commencement of services. You will be required to pay for services within 24 hours of a counselling service being rendered.

Payment is due at the time of service unless alternate arrangements have been made in advance. Accepted payment methods include Interac e-transfer and cash.

Your scheduled appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. When sessions are missed or cancelled with insufficient notice, we are often unable to fill that time, and other clients are affected.

Cancellation/No-Show Policy Summary:

  • 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged $50 fee.
  • After three No-shows (missed appointments without prior notice)clients will be billed at the full session rate.
  • Reminder emails are sent as a courtesy only. You are responsible for tracking and attending your appointments, regardless of whether a reminder is received.
  • Cancellation or no-show fees are clearly labeled on receipts (e.g., “cancellation fee” or “missed appointment”) and are not categorized as counselling services for insurance purposes.
  • Cancellation fees may be waived only in the event of:
    • A documented medical emergency;
    • A death in the immediate family;
    • Unsafe weather conditions (e.g., severe snowstorm).
  • Requests for fee reductions may be considered at the therapist’s discretion.

If you have multiple future appointments booked and cancel or miss your most recent session without adequate notice, you must pay the outstanding fee within 24 hours to retain your upcoming sessions.

Late Arrivals / Virtual Sessions:

  • A session is considered a no-show after 15 minutes. For phone or video sessions, the therapist will make three attempts to connect.
  • If no connection is made within 15 minutes, the session will be considered a missed appointment and invoiced accordingly.
  • If you are experiencing technical difficulties, it is your responsibility to contact the office immediately to communicate the issue.
